…and the last and final career lesson from my DIY projects is to trust yourself. When you are designing a very permanent house renovation, you have to make big decisions and trust they align with what you are looking for.
This is not easy…which is why on HGTV you see people change their mind a million times…grass is always greener with the blue cabinets, or is it the green cabinets?!
If you’ve had a Zoom call with me, you know I love bold design. And sometimes we chose paint colors, wallpaper, light fixtures, and tile that others would find “too much.” But from the beginning, we rooted into what we wanted our home to feel like:
- Creative
- Energizing
- Surprising
So every time we were going thru a million tile samples (don’t look in my garage!), we went back to what we wanted our house to feel like and each decision aligned our core vision and made it come to life.
In Dream Job Coaching, I’ve realized that one of the main reasons clients come to me for coaching is that they don’t trust themselves to pick the right job. They feel like one or more of their past jobs were “mistakes,” or they ignored their intuition and got trapped in a toxic situation, or they settled for a salary that chipped away at their self worth.
My coaching doesn’t just help clients get a job—it helps them become someone who can choose the right job. We work together to illuminate the clarity of what you truly want in your next job, what’s working and what’s not, and how to listen for red flags in interviews—and ultimately trust your intuition that this is the right offer to accept.
I realized that I had built this practice through my DIY design to know how to make a decision that aligns with my core design principles. This way I could trust that when I installed the tile 3 years later: it would be exactly what I want (spoiler: it was!)
Tile can feel just as permanent as a job. But by tuning into what you really want, strategizing on what to listen for in interviews, and learning to trust yourself again—you’ll know what is best for you in this phase of your life. So, when you accept that job offer, it will be a full-body YES!
Through Dream Job Coaching, we move from doubt to confidence. To further illuminate your path, clients receive a customized Career Clarity Roadmap (see the report). This customized report highlights your unique strengths, what you are truly looking for in your next job, what keywords to search for in job descriptions, and key phrases to use in your resume and LinkedIn to express your unique brilliance. If you feel lost in your career path, this roadmap is exactly what you need to get your compass pointing in the right direction
I want you to be picky in your job search, so the first step is know what to say “no” too. And the next step after that is trusting that you will make the right decision because we know exactly what you want.
